Learn to Paddleboard, SUP Skills Class
6-week sup skills class
6:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday evenings from July 14 - August 18
Take part in a 6 week series of one-hour standup paddleboarding skills classes on the Ottawa River. Some previous paddleboarding experience is required for these sessions in order to have a minimum level of skill and knowledge to participate in group activities. Expect to develop an increased awareness of water safety, master new paddle strokes and improve current technique, have fun playing with foot movement on the board, and learn to connect the paddle powerfully and efficiently with the water. As skill level progresses we will venture out to explore and tour around the islands off of the beautiful Petawawa Point, applying what we’ve learned in a variety of changing safe conditions.

Paddlers will be awarded with a Paddle Canada Basic Flatwater Skills Certification upon the completion of the classes and having demonstrated the required skillset. Taking the time to learn about paddleboarding and to ask questions will help you to have efficient forward movement (quit switching sides so often!), to feel more confident and comfortable on the water, to understand a variety of strokes and how the board reacts, and most importantly to paddle safely. The more you know, the more fun you will have!
Classes begin at the rental hut at Petawawa Point beach.

*Equipment rentals include a paddleboard, adjustable paddle, PFD, tow rope, and a whistle.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Courses are non-refundable within 48 hours of the activity. Court Outdoors reserves the right to cancel courses, lessons, private bookings, and day-trips due to unsafe conditions, inclement weather, or circumstances beyond our control. If your booking is cancelled your payment will be refunded, or alternate date provided.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: All guests must sign a release of liability waiver prior to participating.
